Infertility evaluation And treatment

Infertility in women may be due to several causes, such as structural abnormalities in the reproductive system, hormonal imbalances, or underlying medical conditions. It is important to diagnose the cause of infertility and to provide appropriate treatment to the patients to increase their chances of conception.

Our Offerings

  • Ovulation Testing: Ovulation in women occur almost in the middle of the menstrual cycle. The egg lives for about one day once released from the ovaries. Determining the time of ovulation increases the chances of pregnancy. Ovulation testing is done with a test strip that determines the level of luteinizing hormone in urine.
  • Hormonal Testing: The gynecologists perform blood tests to determine the level of several hormones that affect fertility. These hormones include follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, estradiol, serum progesterone, anti-mullerian hormone, prolactin, and androgens.
  • Hysterosalpingography: In some cases, infertility in women may also be due to structural abnormalities or underlying medical conditions. Gynecologists may also recommend patients undergo hysterosalpingography. It allows gynecologists to detect any blockage in the fallopian tube or any disease in the uterus. It may be done with the assistance of contrast dye and x-rays.
  • Imaging Tests: Patients undergo imaging tests to determine the cause of infertility. These tests include a sonohysterogram, a pelvic ultrasound, and a transvaginal ultrasound.
  • Ovarian Reserve Testing: During ovarian reserve testing, gynecologists determine if the woman can produce eggs or if the eggs produced are of good quality. The ovarian reserve testing is done by determining the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone, anti-mullerian hormone, estradiol, and inhibin B. A transvaginal ultrasound is performed to determine the antral follicle count.
  • Ovulation Induction: Almost one-third of infertile women have problems with ovulation. Ovulation induction aims to produce a healthy egg. It involves the stimulation of egg development and release by using hormonal therapy. Ovulation induction aims to increase the chance of conception through sexual intercourse or artificial reproductive techniques. It is useful for women who have absent or irregular ovulation.
