Dr Joshi authored the first pain management textbook in India in 2004, which is currently in its third edition. In addition, he has been the editor-in-chief of six textbooks on pain management therapies, so far. He has served as an examiner, teacher, and guide for the Indian Society for the Study of Pain.

Dr Joshi is also a member of various prestigious professional societies across the globe. He has been on board as an author, editor, and reviewer for both Indian and International journals and textbooks. He has given innumerable presentations and guest lectures at various international and national events. He regularly conducts hands-on workshops on interventional pain management for both live patients and cadavers.
