Critical Care Unit refers to very thorough and concentrated care for critically ill patients. Critical care services are imparted to patients at risk of immediate life-threatening health condition—specifically, that in which vital body organs are involved. The objective of critical care is to maintain organ system functioning and improve the condition of the patient, using advanced therapeutic, monitoring and diagnostic technology.

Intensive Care Unit
Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Citizens Specialty Hospital is equipped with an advanced MICU that can provide acute care to patients with critical medical illnesses. The unit has managed several emergencies such as stroke, complications arising from uncontrolled sugar and similar situations with positive outcomes.
High Dependency Unit (HDU)
HDUs are special wards providing intensive treatment and monitoring for patients who are ill but in comparatively stable condition. HDU is also used as a step down for patients from MICU.
Cath Lab and Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
For heart-related emergencies, Citizens Specialty Hospital has an advanced 24×7 Cathlab that is equipped to perform lifesaving procedures such as primary Angioplasty and Cardiothoracic surgeries. The first 90-minutes matter the most in case of cardiac emergencies and E-ONE is one of the most adequately equipped systems to save lives in such scenarios.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit & Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (PICU & NICU)
In case of emergencies in children, it is of utmost importance that they are managed in specialized care units. Our state-of-the-art PICU & NICU units are managed with highest standards of safety as well as quality that is required for pediatric cases.

Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM) is a one year course for post-MD doctors (Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Pulmonology). We have 2 seats per year in this course.
Post MBBS Certificate Course In Critical Care Medicine is a 2 year course for post MBBS doctors. We have 2 seats per year in this course.
Critical Care Course For Nurses
Citizens Specialty Hospital offers ISCCM Diploma in Critical Care Nursing Conducted by the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine since Jan 2017. We have 4 seats per year in this course.
We participate in national and international conferences and our faculty has been involved in the National Critical Care Organization.
