Department of Emergency Medicine, Citizens Specialty Hospitals offers Masters in Emergency Medicine (MEM) affiliated to Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI).
The Masters in Emergency Medicine (MEM) program offers students a unique clinical experience through its excellent academic schedule. The training comprises rotatory postings in the Emergency room, Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and OT to acquire skills that will enable providing emergency care, critical care and basic anaesthesia.
The program includes weekly journal club and hands-on workshops onsite in skill laboratory from experts. Pre-Hospital Emergency Care and In-Hospital Emergency Codes are included in the training. The EM department is supported by round-the-clock diagnostics lab, radiology, blood bank and expert teams.
MEM candidates are eligible to appear for MRCEM (Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine), UK and the training module includes focused training for the examination. MRCEM is recognised by the Medical Council of India as an additional speciality degree.
DURATION: 3 years, full-time, on campus.
