American Oncology Institute (AOI) and Citizens Specialty Hospital successfully organised the 6th Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Oncology Surgery (MIGOS)

Inaugurated by the Minister for Finance, Health, Medical & Family Welfare, Government of Telangana

26th Feb 2023, Hyderabad: Over 250 delegates gathered at the 6th Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Oncology Surgery (MIGOS) organized by American Oncology Institute (AOI) and Citizens Specialty Hospital in collaboration with Obstetric & Gynaecological Society of Hyderabad (OGSH) at Le Meridien Hotel, Hyderabad. The Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Health, Medical & Family Welfare, Government of Telangana Sri T. Harish Rao Garu inaugurated the conference followed by a lamp lightning ceremony.

The organising chairperson, Dr Jagdishwar Goud the Head of Department for Surgical Oncology & Robotic Surgery at AOI led the session with the live surgery on Open Hysterectomy demonstrating various techniques and offering educational values. Present at the event were members of OGSH, Dr Ganga Bhavani, the organising secretary and organising team including Dr Suresh Chandra Hari, Dr Deepak Sharma, Dr Bala Vikas Kumar, Dr Andal Reddy, Dr Radhika, Dr Kavita N, Dr Thirumanikandan, Dr Padmapriya, Dr Rajesh Goud, Dr Krishna Kiran and Dr Ramachandra Nagaraju.

Dr Jagdishwar Goud the Head of Department for Surgical Oncology & Robotic Surgery, AOI said, “There has been a rapid progress of the use of robotic technology over the past decade. With its technological advancements, robotics surgery allows minimally invasive surgery including less blood loss and quicker recovery time compared to traditional laparotomy. It also helps with shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery for patients to get back to their daily routine. We are glad to organise the MIGOS event that helps Oncologists and Gynaecologists on the advanced form of robotic surgery and improve quality of treatment as well as for gynaecological cancer.”

Dr Ganga Bhavani, Organising Secretary, said, “With increase in gynaecological cancer cases, it is the need of the hour for health practitioners to enhance their skills and practise through minimally invasive robotics surgery.
